Davao beauty brand making waves in Luzon

A DAVAO-MADE beauty brand is now making its name outside the city and is being shipped to malls and other establishments in Luzon.

BN Whitening Shoppe is a brand developed by Bianca Patricia Naranjo-Kanakan making use of organic ingredients to make their products. It started seven years ago, which had been improved after she had attended private soap making seminars.

“I used to have skin asthma before and my ointment then was expensive so we innovated a product that can be used by babies and pregnant women,” said Kanakan adding that their products, aside from promoting beauty and confidence, also have FDA certification and license to operate which assure the safety of it all.

When asked how they are able to keep up with the current competition since there are a lot of locally-made cosmetic products mushrooming everywhere, Kanakan said their constant participation in business expos and franchising had gained them extra exposure. On top of that, the word of mouth of their satisfied clients had made them more known, not just in Davao City but also in other parts of the country since they started as an online outlet.

Currently, they are able to ship about 5,000 bars of beauty soaps in their branches in Luzon monthly and more than 2,000 anti-acne sets per month. Their bestseller is their whitening lotions which they are able to sell more than 5,000 per month.

Now, they have physical stores in various SM Malls in Luzon and in Farmers, Cubao. In Davao Region they have stores in Gaisano Mall of Davao, SM City Ecoland, Gaisano Mall of Toril, Panabo, and a franchise branch in Jacinto Extension, Davao City.

They have also put up an outlet in SM City General Santos.

“At first, it is a challenge that there are a lot of other beauty products that we should compete with but we learned that our clients, after trying products, really keep coming back to us,” said Kanakan.

Their beauty products include Whitening Gold Mask, Scar Cream, Clarifying Lotion, Ultra White Toner, Deo Whitening Cream, and Skin Lightening Lotion among others.
