Price of flowers still to go down
PRICES of flowers in Bankerohan market may still decrease today, November 1, but may depend on the availability of supplies from Los Amigos and Bukidnon, said vendors.
Yesterday, on the last day of October when some had started going to cemeteries to visit their dead relatives, the flower vendors in Bankerohan market had also started displaying their prearranged and stemmed flowers on the streetside of Bankerohan so the customers would not need to go inside the market.
Prearranged flowers in small tin cans and small baskets are priced at P50 to P250. Some vendors have also prearranged the flowers creatively in heart or cross shapes. These are priced at P300 to P350. The bigger ones, and those with better designs can go as high as P800 but according to the vendor of Nene Eddie Flower Shop in Bankerohan, they might be able to give it to the customer for only P700 today as the last price.
For those who wish to arrange their own flowers a bulk of Bangkok flowers and Golden Yellow are priced at P100 to P250 respectively. A dozen of roses are available from P70 to P80. Bankerohan vendors said before Undas, rose dozens are priced at P100 but has now gone down to P70 and may still decrease today or on November 2, depending whether there would still be a lot of roses available for harvest in Los Amigos.
Aside from the Bangkok flowers, Golden Yellow, and red and pink roses, there are also anthurium, chrysanthemum, and orchids.
