Remembering the departed

-

AS we observe All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day, let us take time to pay respects and remember the legacy of our dearly beloved.

Let us take this time to remember and be thankful of the great things our dearly departed have done to our lives. Let us forget the mistakes of those who left us and forgive them.

Take these couple of days to also reflect on how we can also do our part in fostering positive change in ourselves, families, friends and the communities.

Let us also remember the fallen soldiers who took part in the liberation of Marawi City and also those who have fought to protect the country from threats.

While we celebrate and remember the lives of our loved ones who went ahead of us whether in our homes or at the cemeteries, let us also keep in mind the safety of other people around us.

As it is a time of remembrance, avoid playing music that is too loud so as not to disturb others.

Avoid drinking too much alcohol to prevent any road mishap that wound endanger lives of others. Also, do not forget that we still have to observe local laws.

For those who are going home to their provinces, stay safe and have a happy trip. Make sure to keep your homes secure while you are away.

Make use of the holidays to also spend quality time with loved ones who are still around.

But let us bear in mind that remembering the dead should not only happen once or twice a year. Our loved ones who passed away will forever be part of our lives and hearts. They should never be forgotten.
