PAL to open more new flights
FLAG carrier, Philippine Airlines ( PAL), is slated to open more new flights before the year ends, PAL Senior Assistant Vice President for Visayas - Mindanao Sales Harry Inofero said.
On December 1, PAL will launch its Cebu to Siargao, Camiguin, Ozamiz and Legaspi, Bicol routes. The Cagayan - Clark route will also be launched.
"In the middle of December we will also be flying non- stop, three time daily from Manila to Aukland, New Zealand and Toronto, Canada," Inofero said.
For more international flights, Inofero shared that they will be opening its Cebu - Bangkok and Manila - London routes before the year end.
For Davao City, he said, PAL is looking at two more domestic destinations in Davao City which will be launched next year.
"What we have for Davao are domestic flights, in terms of international routes, we have none in the pipeline as we have to make sure that flights are supported with aircrafts," Inofero added.
PAL Assistant Vice President for Airport Operations Services Outstation Ronald Mangahas, in a separate interview said these new domestic routes are part of the company's route expansion program.
"This is to achieve our goal to make Philippines more connected domestically and internationally. Also, we are regaining some routes, which we've been flying before like the DavaoCagayan de Oro route," he said.
On refleeting, Mangahas said that two A350 aircrafts will be arriving next year replacing its A340 units.
"Also, coming are A321 NEO which will be replacing our A320 aircrafts. Moreover, we are expecting the arrival of 777 planes which will serve our international flights," he said.
PAL launched on Wednesday Davao to Cagayan de Oro ( CDO) and Davao- Tagbilaran, Bohol flights. Yesterday, November 2, the airline launched its DavaoZamboanga flight.
PAL will fly from Davao to CDO daily, Bohol four times weekly and Zamboanga three times weekly. The routes will be served by its four new Bombardier Q400 New Generation aircraft, an 86- seater plane.
