Leuenberger 3rd in triathlon meet
SEASONED young y triathlete Eduard Ed Moritz Leuenberger Leuenbe of Team Philipp Philippines/ Tri Right Mindanao Mind placed third ov overall in the just- concluded concl National Age G Group ( NAGT) Triathlon held in Cagayan de Oro City.
Leuenberger, who recently recov recovered from dengue, fresh from a dengue il illness recovery, fini finished the 750- meter s swim, 20- kilometer bik bike and five- kilometer run sprint distance in a total of one hou hour, six minutes and 54 seconds onds to place third overall among 80 other er entries.
The 16- year- yea old pride of Davao City trailed Anton A Alejo ( 1 1: 04 04.04) 04) who h topped the race. Godwin Jacob Taylor ( 1: 05.53) placed third.
"Almost six weeks siya ( Eduard Moritz) advised to rest ng doctor nya. He just got back to training nung September 18. Mga six weeks palang siya training after his rest," Ed Leuenberger, father of Eduard Moritz, in a Facebook interview said.
The proud father, however, said his son still has six more weeks to train to be back to his usual fitness level.
"Hirap pa siya sa breathing sa swim and kulang pa power sa bike and run," the elder Leuenberger said.
He added that the remaining weeks of training will be enough for the younger Leuenberger to brace for another competition as he will compete in the upcoming Philippine National Games ( PNG) 2017 set December 10 to 16 and in Tabuelan on December 14.
