A MALL employee is facing charges before the court after he was found sneaking a product from the stockroom inside a mall along Jose P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City last October 23, Monday.

Charged with qualified theft is Kevin Dellosa Basinilio, who was assigned as in-charge for certain products, and a transient resident of this city.

Prosecutor Irene Joy Tala-Montero found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by the representative of the mall, Peregrino Sarmiento.

In a resolution dated November 3, the accused was arrested after he was found wearing a pair of new socks during the inspection.

The security guard, Elgie Niepes, was inspecting employees going out of the mall when he noticed the accused appear to be hesitant.

Niepes noticed the socks of the accused were thicker as compared to the socks of the other employees. He checked the socks of the accused and found another pair of Black Darlington brand socks worth P240.

Niepes said the socks were doubled inside the company socks of the accused. When the guard required the accused to present a receipt of the item, Basinilio could not show any receipt.
