It was fulfilling. Being a newbie and working with another neophyte in the wedding industry is both a risk and opportunity.

Risk because the team is still uncertain about what to happen and all we got are a dose of research, advices from experts (and Youtube tutorials, of course!) and determination. Opportunity, because it can be a perfect avenue to prove to naysayers and even to ourselves that we can do it, no matter how impossible it may seem at first. But, I never doubted the team’s capacity to make it possible.

The big day was last September 2, 2017, the wedding day of Ferdinand Callao and Shane Mae VillahermosaCallao in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

I am with Aninag Productions, a Davao-based photography and videography group. Tasked to capture the precious moment of communion of the couple from pre-wedding to the big day, saying I was nervous and anxious is an understatement. The responsibility is nothing short huge. But we took it anyway, it was always the team’s dream to fully cover a wedding event, a different approach from our usual documentary and tourism-related produced films.

I could never thank enough my team (Ralph, Jandi and Nini) for making

this dream realized. But it will be hypocrite of us if we say we made it by Aninag alone. Of course, it was a team effort, from the set design and art direction (Meynard Saplagio Entera of Quant Events), Enhance), robe (Enhance), hair and make-up (Fam Bayon-on and team) and overall event planning and coordination (April Noellie Armilla of L.A. Resort). The team, was , composed of brilliant and creative individuals. It is but also worthy to note that our partnership eson Paul Pangawas Photography and Gilbert Lanuza Aerial Photography on the wedding day was awesome. We also appreciate the help of our dear freelance model friend, Myka Gadia, who served as our production assistant during the wedding day. It was also a bonus, for our part, to have covered our first wedding event in a peaceful and laidback themed resort, L.A. Farm Resort.

They say, first is always memorable, we concur. The experience we had will albe ways be carried with happy thoughts as we journey our way around this industry. Beginners’ luck? Nah. We call it, fruit of labor and hardwork.
