THE MOOD OF THE DAY.
Unlike the somber poses of many past summits, cheer is seen on the faces of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the rest of the leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) member states and dialogue partners as they do the traditional Asean handshake at the opening of the 31st Asean Summit and Related Summits at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, yesterday. The dialogue partners are New Zealand, Timor-Leste, Republic of Korea, USA, Australia, India, China, and Japan. Above, Duterte shares a light moment with US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during the program.
