Survey: Gov’t services moderately accessible

-

BASED on the recent survey conducted by the Institute of Popular Opinion (IPO), the overall assessment on government services as mentioned by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio during her Sate of the City Address (Soca) is moderately accessible as it includes the most popular Lingap sa Mahirap program.

Speaking during yesterday’s Kapehan Sa Dabaw at The Annex of SM City Davao, University of Mindanao (UM) statistician John Vianne Murcia told reporters that they conducted the survey last October 11 to October 21 wherein 1,200 Dabawenyos were randomly selected using a five percent margin of error and 95 percent confidence level and a multi-stage sampling.

The survey questionnaire was based on the programs and services mentioned by the mayor during her Soca last September and they asked the Dabawenyos on the degree of awareness and

their knowledge of these services.

“We ask Dabawenyos how aware and how they were able to access in the scale of 1 to 10 [10 is the highest] and it’s so happened that the overall assessment in terms of awareness is moderately accessible which means there are items or projects conducted in the city that are highly accessible but there are also item that are not that accessible,” Murcia said.

The result showed that the public’s level of awareness in government services is moderate (5.16 percent) while perceived accessibility to these services and programs is deemed to be low (3.93). The selected projects and services were found to be relevant and near the people’s impressions. AP
