CTTMO won’t tolerate erring personnel

-

DAVAO City Transportation and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) head Dionisio Abude said that he will not tolerate erring traffic enforcers.

Abude, in an interview yesterday, said that they are now investigating the case of the traffic enforcer who was caught on camera playing computer games in an internet shop.

“Another enforcer is already off duty, and since it is rainy that time, the enforcer was not able to get a ride and decided to play computer instead, (but) we are still conducting further investigation,” he said.

Abude said that another matter being investigated by his office is the enforcer who rode at the back of motorcycle without a helmet.

“This incident is clear that it is being tolerated, so as of now we still cannot identify because we cannot clearly see the face of the one wearing CTTMO uniform. We are giving this an immediate action because we do not want our personnel to conduct any violation,” Abude added.

Abude said that they conduct formation every Saturday wherein enforcers are reminded of the rules on wearing their proper uniform, tardiness and illegal activities.

“This is one thing I ask from the enforcers, how can we enforce (the traffic law) if what we are doing contradicts to what is in the law? In fact (t)here is also another complaint, that there are three enforcers who got positive result in random drug testing so they are already terminated,” Abude added.

Abude said that they do not tolerate erring enforcers nor hide them.

“Dili pwede nga taguan nato kay kung mao na murag gi-tolerate nato (We will not hide them because that means we tolerate their acts),” he said.

He added that the remaining CTTMO enforcers still have high morale despite the recent reports.

“There is no problem (with morale) since only a few were involved in (illegal) cases, and in fact the one who played computer games is not proven guilty yet, only those three who were positive for drugs use and those who have used two plate numbers (were proven guilty),” he said. KVC
