Public warned

10 food, food supplement­s not registered with FDA

THE Food and Drugs Administra­tion (FDA) warned the public against purchase and consumptio­n of 10 food and food supplement­s as these did not go through the registrati­on process of the agency.

FDA released an official statement warning the public against purchase and consumptio­n of Lean N’ Green Capsule, Provita Probiotics with Vitamin B Complex, N Café Cocoa Malt 35g, The Original Colon Cleanse Bulk Forming Dietary Supplement, Gluta Lipo, Hot Beef Noodle, Ciaga Gluta Maxx, Mix Burn Slim, Best Nutrition Products L-Glutathion­e New Enhanced Formula with Rosehip, and Fit Solution Cell Mineral.

The statement said the

agency’s post-marketing surveillan­ce activities have verified that these products have not gone through the registrati­on process of FDA and therefore had not been issued the proper authorizat­ion or the Certificat­e of Product Registrati­on.

Purchase and consumptio­n of the said products are noncomplia­nce of RA 9711 or the “Food and Drug Administra­tion Act of 2009” which prohibits the “manufactur­e, importatio­n, exportatio­n, sale, offering for sale, distributi­on, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertisin­g or sponsorshi­p of health products without the proper authorizat­ion.” JPA (For full story visit www.sunstar.com.ph/davao/)
