Monkayo Warriors grabs 2nd place in Comval meet
THE delegation from Monkayo, the Monkayo Warriors, was proclaimed as the 1st runner-up out of the 11 teams in the overall standing for 2017 Compostela Valley Provincial Athletic Association (CVPAA) Meet held in Pantukan.
The weeklong meet culminated last Friday, Nov. 10, where no less than Monkayo Mayor Ramil L. Gentugaya and Board Member Joanna A. Gentugaya hosted a welcome dinner for the school administrators, coaching staff and teachers of the Monkayo Warriors immediately after they arrived.
Mayor Gentugaya was also the one who graced the closing program of the meet.
But prior to gracing the closing ceremony, Mayor Ramil Lao Gentugaya met with members of the Sangguniang Bayan before heading to Pantukan. The meeting is regularly done by the local chief executive to harmonize all the programs of the local government unit for effective legislation towards the progress and development of the municipality.
He also had lunch with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, who was together with him in supporting the Monkayo Warriors.
He then toured at the best practices gallery of the delegation, which also forms part of the CVPAA Meet together with SB Members Joel Basañes II, Domingo Estrada, Jocelyn Cabag-Burgos, Brendo Ceniza, Ronald Manzano, Miguel Labrador and Marlon Tumaob.
Also present were Schools Division Superintendent Rey Solitario, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Josie Bolofer, and Monkayo Public Schools District Supervisor Rey Antonio.
