11 face illegal gambling raps

NINE men and two women are facing charges for illegal gambling.

Charged with violation of the Presidenti­al Decree 1602 or Penalties on Illegal Gambling are Luzminda Largo; Julieta G. Acaso; Rolando Bucia;

Alfredo Gaborne; Pedro Barua; Rizal Abdulla; Allan Rebusa; Richard Saveron; Rubin; Peejay and Christophe­r Rapas.

Largo, Acaso, Bucia, Gaborne and Barua were first arrested at Purok 22, Robillo Compound in Calinan on October 26, Thursday, following the arrest warrant issued by Judge Marie Estrellita Tolentino-Rojas, of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 2.

The arresting policemen said they saw the four at the Largo residence playing mahjongg with bet money.

Prosecutor Erna OrillaDona­sco found probable cause to charge Largo, Acaso, Bucia, Gaborne and Barua following the complaint filed by PO3 Inel Amora and PO1 Ken Leo Gumamoy, of the Calinan Police Station. ICT (For full story visit www.sunstar.com.ph/ davao/)
