Four games when FPTA cagefest resumes
FOUR exciting games will be played when the Federation of ParentsTeachers Association (FPTA) Region 11, Inc. 2nd Inter-School Basketball Tournament resumes tomorrow, November 25, at the Precious International School of Davao (PISD) Basketball Gym.
FPTA Region 11 president lawyer Santos Torreña bared this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at the Annex of SM City Davao yesterday.
The curtain raiser will pit the hosting school PISD against Brokenshire College of Davao (BCD) at 8am followed by the matches between Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA) and University of Immaculate Conception (UIC) at 9:30am, San Pedro College (SPC) and Assumption College of Davao (ACD) at 1pm and Fr. Justin Russolillo School of Davao (FJRSD) and Our Lady of Fatima College (OLFA) at 2:30pm.
Torreña said the cagefest that aims to promote camaraderie and healthy lifestyle among Davao Association of Catholic Schools (DACS)-member parents opened last November 11.
"This is the first time that we had a regionalwide tournament because we also wanted to show that the parents are still active in sports," said Torreña, adding that the culmination of the event is slated in February.
Torreña added that guest teams from Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley Province, Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental also joined in the event.
Aside from PISD, BCD, FAA, UIC, SPC, ACD, FJRSD and OLFA, other teams entered are Ateneo de Davao University, Southern Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary, Maryknoll College of Panabo, Cor Jesu College of Digos, Holy Cross of Babak, Assumpta School of Tagum and St. Lorenzo Ruiz Academy. ABM
