CSSDO gives aid to 703 families
THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) has already extended food services and other necessities to 703 families who were left homeless after a fire razed 413 houses at Purok 1, Muslim Village, Kilometer 11, Barangay Sasa, Davao City last Friday.
CSSDO head Maria Luisa T. Bermudo, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday, said as of 2 a.m. yesterday, they have already finalized the master list of 703 families and 30 individuals who were affected by the fire.
Bermudo said last FriTHREE day, the Kusina ng Bayan, mobile kitchen was dispatched to provide hot meals for the fire victims.
She said evacuees are seeking temporary shelter at Barangay Fatima Gym.
Doña Salud Gym in Sasa was also among the choices for temporary shelter but the evacuees opted to stay only at Fatima Gym since it is the nearest to the affected area.
"We have given food and non-food items. There is an ongoing assistance for them since they are still at the Fatime Gym,"
she said.
Bermudo said a team from CSSDO Buhangin District conducted the master list from Saturday to Sunday.
Bermudo said Sasa is still under the Buhangin District Office, led by Norman Baloro.
She added that they are hopeful that they can provide the financial assistance to the families as soon as possible.
"Hopefully within this week we can process, the financial assistance," Bermudo said. KVC
