28-K security forces for ‘Pasko Fiesta'

A TOTAL of 28,568 security personnel will be deployed for the entire month of December to ensure peace and order of Pasko Fiesta events.

Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) deputy officer Angel Sumagaysay, in an interview last week, said they will deploy a high number of troops since they want to intensify security for major events.

Sumagaysay said they will start the deployment from December 1 unitl January 2.

"Ganito kasi yan, in day one we will deploy 938, and day two we will deploy 665 men, so it will reach these numbers. We will really have full deployment in big events such as the opening. yug-

and simbang gabi, which is until 24, and also the new year. These are the huge events that will have 1000 plus, so all in all it reached 28,568," Sumagaysay said.

He added that the deployment will be just for the city's activities for Christmas but they will see to it that the routine assignment of the troops will not be compromised.

"The deployment will start in December 1, but we will have soft deployment before December 1, to secure the area," he said.

Meanwhile, PSSCC head Benito de Leon also confirmed that they are ready for the Pasko Fiesta after months of preparation.
