UM is No. 1 & 2 in September LET

THE University of Mindanao (UM) produced its fourth No. 1 ranking Teaching Education graduate in three years in the September 2017 Licensure Examinatio­n for Teachers (LET) Secondary Level, but did more this time as it also got the No. 2 slot aside from three others who shared the No. 7 slot.

City (Usep), meanwhile got two topnotcher­s (No. 6 and 9) for the September 2017 LET Elementary Level.

Rhoy Autentico Omega of UMDavao City scored 93.80 percent to top the 49,626 secondary teachers out of 107,020 (46.37%) who passed the LET. At Close No. 2 with just 1.2 percentage points difference is Brian Monpon Ba-An who got 92.60%.

Sharing seventh place with six others from different schools for their score of 91.60% are: Shamile Josephine Tampipi Arobo of UMDavao and Caryl James Faith Bangahon Abrenica and Ken Clyde Otig Longos, both of UM-Tagum.

"We are very proud of the achievemen­ts of our LET topnotcher­s of College of Teaching Education," UM President Guillermo P. Torres Jr. said in a text message as he congratula­ted the graduates, teachers and the College dean.

"We have been working hard to achieve quality education since 1999 through numerous quality assurance initiative­s. The performanc­e of UM at PRC (Profession­al Regulation Commission) licensure exams are the product of quality assurance to achieve quality education and come out with excellent students," he said.

Just last March 2017 LET, UM also grabbed the top slot with Marian Kaye Gallego, Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in Mathematic­s, who scored 92.80% to get the topmost ranking. Six other students also landed in the top 10 in the March 2017 LET examinatio­ns, namely Gerlie Tampos Albia of UM-Digos (ranked fifth with a score of 91.40%); Rosa Mae Asaytona Salazar and Chrestine Bariquit Torrejos, both at 6th place with a score of 91.20%; Leslae Kay Cataytay Mantilla (7th place with a score of 91.00%); Kristine Clarrisse Cabante Planas (8th place with 90.60%); and Mark John Pepito (9th place with a score of 90.40%).

"The UM topnotcher­s are the testament of quality education," Torres said.

At No. 6 in the Elementary Level from Usep is Micca Vanessa Dy Pastelero who got 87.20%. She shared this slot with a graduate from St. Louis University.

Sharing Rank. No. 9 along with eight other passers is Usep's Via Allona Abella Tandiama who scored 86.60%. SAE
