Davao Doc eyes expansion in city

-

DAVAO Doctors Hospital (DDH) is eyeing to expand its services to the far-flung areas of the city.

In an interview with the media during the hospital launching of its new facilities on December 6, doctor Noel A. Villanueva, Davao Doctors Hospital medical director, revealed that the hospital is planning to extend its services in its Dumoy satellite branch by constructing another building to house its new facility, the birthing facility.

"We chose Dumoy area because it is one of the most populated areas in Davao City," Villanueva said.

He also revealed that in the next five years they will also build another structure in Ciudades Township in Buhangin to cater to their clients in the northern area.

Aside from that, Villanueva said they are also eyeing to develop their properties in Mintal in the next five years as well.

He also revealed their plans of expanding their dialysis center in Dumoy because they have observed that there is an upsurge of kidney patients who need to undergo dialysis procedure.

"So we'll be doubling our capacity there so that the patients from the southern part of the city will not need to go here," he said.

They are also eyeing to open another unit, the wound care facility, so that the diabetic patients who are suffering from wounds and infections (usually on their feet) will be taken care of by that unit. He also added that this facility will not only be for those diabetic patients who have infected wounds but also to other wounded patients as well.

"Para hindi na mahirapan ang mga doctors (for diabetics) na sila pa magaalaga ng mga wounds," he said.

Raymund CS. Del Val, the hospital's president and chief executive officer, said they have to upgrade their facilities to accommodate the growing number of the patient flow that they anticipate.
