‘Takbo Para sa Presinto Dos’ kicks off Sun­day

THE San Pe­dro Police Sta­tion (PS) 2 will hold its first fun run dubbed as "Takbo Para sa Presinto Dos" that will kick off on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 10, at the Peo­ple's Park here.

Police Se­nior In­spec­tor (PSI) Ar­ca­dio De Dios of the OPN/PCR PS 2, who guested in the Davao Sportswrit­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (DSA) Fo­rum held at the NCCC Mall B3 Fam­ily Room yes­ter­day, bared that the pro­ceeds of the event will be for the in­stall­ment of new CCTV and dash cam­eras for the mo­bile pa­trols.

They tar­get 5,000 par­tic­i­pants.

"There are many projects in our sta­tion but this is the first time to hap­pen in all the police sta­tions (to have a fun run). We have 30 stu­dents at DCPO (Davao City Police Of­fice) and we have been want­ing to pro­vide uni­forms for them," De Dios said.

DCPO di­rec­tor Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Alexan­der Tagum and crim­i­nol­ogy stu­dents of Univer­sity of Min­danao and Rizal Me­mo­rial Col­leges have con­firmed to join.

Police Of­fi­cer (PO) 2 Je­cyl Mae Pabin­git, who was also ac­com­pa­nied by PO1 Ro­je­mar Es­to­comen and PO1 Sarah Mag­da­lene, added, "Kailan­gan din ng im­prove­ment sa sta­tion namin ngayon. We want more ef­fec­tive crime preven­tion which is very im­por­tant."

Pabin­git said the run fea­tures male and fe­mal 3K and 5K cat­e­gories.

Cash prizes await win­ners with the cham­pion tak­ing home P2,000 while the next two plac­ers will re­ceive P1,000 and P750, re­spec­tively.
