GIFT-GIVING has become a tradition when Christmas draws near. It can’t be holidays without the exchanging gifts or just merely giving gifts.

Over 80 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will participate for this year’s event. During the opening yesterday, a total of 27 new brands were launched as part of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Brand Equity Development Program

Organized by Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation Inc. (MTEFI), the event is aimed at assisting MSMEs and retail-selling the Mindanao-made products and export over-runs to local shoppers, tourists and visitors and even institutional buyers looking for gift items ideal for holiday seasons.

This one-week Christmas shopping will gather MSMEs in Mindanao presenting various sectors such as arts and crafts, home décor and housewares, gifts

and premi- um, furniture, fashion, beauty and wellness, fresh and processed food and other service providers. “Two things that make the event special with the support of DTI are the product development output of Davao city-based MSMEs by Stanley Ruiz and the completion of Davao Region entrepreneurs for the Brand Equity “Department Program”, MTEFI President Rosevic Del RosarioCembrano said. Aside from the trade fair, special settings are the prototypes as a result of the product development course conducted by renowned designer Stanley Ruiz under the supervision of the Department of Trade and Industry – Davao City Field Office. MTE 2015 is staged with support from the DTI, Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. and Abreeza Ayala Mall.
