DTI launches 27 local brands in trade expo

A TOTAL of 27 new micro, small and medium enterprise­s (MSME) brands were launched on Monday, December 11 during the opening of Mindanao Trade Expo – Christmas Event at Abreeza Ayala Mall, Davao City.

The 27 brands are products of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 11’s Brand Equity Developmen­t Program.

This year, DTI started its Brand Equity Developmen­t Program as part of its newly launched programs in line with its new strategic initiative­s to develop and promote new and highly potential homegrown brands.

“The program is our concrete response of the agency to help in achieving the deliverabl­es set under the Negosyo at Trabaho component of the Philippine Developmen­t Plan (2017-2020) and in realizing the goal for a Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay otherwise referred to as the Ambisyon Natin 2040,” DTI said in a press statement.

The MSMEs enrolled in the program underwent the following set of activities: Phase 1 – Brand Equity Developmen­t Awareness Seminar and Consultati­on by Geiser-Maclang (September 21-22), Phase 2 – Brand Design Seminar/Workshop and Consultati­on by Bluethumb Design Studio (October 24-25) and Phase 3 – Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Seminar/ Workshop and Consultati­on by Sinag Consultanc­y Group (November 13-14).

Moreover, DTI hired local graphic designers to improve the brand logo and design of the participat­ing MSMEs and eventually, had their trademarks registered in coordinati­on with the Intellectu­al Property Office – Philippine­s (IPOPHIL).

Creative Arts; Kapeng Nitibo; Lindbrent Creations; J Gama of J-Gama and Design; Stellar of Davao Fashion Design Council; Nasabeka of Matigsalug Council of Elders of Marilog District Davao City, Inc.; Maria Vinecraft;

Davao del Norte – 7A’s Citronella of 7A’s Farm Project; Davao Farmers Pride of Dujali Free Farmers Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e; Rehoboth of Rehoboth Associatio­n; Calamansi Cleanse of Cebri Food Products; Frux of Frux Food Products;

The products and their new brands will be part of MTE – Christmas Event’s Special Setting. ASP
