18 wanted nabbed in Oplan Bulabog

A day after martial law was extended, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) conducted another Oplan Bulabog operation or the joint Anti-Criminalit­y and Terrorism Operations in 10 police stations in the city with 18 wanted persons nabbed and close to 2,000 profiled to check any connection with lawless armed groups.

DCPO director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alexander Tagum said yesterday that at around 6 a.m., operatives of various law enforcemen­t agencies work hand in hand in conducting the surprise simultaneo­us operation that seeks to identify terrorists lairing in the city or prevent them from expanding their presence here.

The series of operations resulted in the profiling of a total of 1,889 residents. Of this number, 1,638 individual­s were with identifica­tion (ID) cards and 251 without ID. The arrest of 18 fugitives was by virtue of warrants of arrest for various serious criminal cases.

He identified the arrested suspects as Celio U. Mangguiob, Joseph T. Ondona, Ivan Herwela, Siberiano L. Gelia, Cleo B. Calleso, Mario I. Nguho, Adonis I. Nguho, Reynaldo D. Datuin, Wilfredo D. Datuin and Arnel C. Pre-

glo for violation of PD 1602 or Simplifyin­g and Providing Stiffer Penalties for Violations of Gambling Laws.

Arabella A. Lanojan is also wanted for grave slander; John Doreen Cadiz for murder and physical injuries; Leo Zapanta for robbery; Maximu P. Secuya and Danilo R. Palermo for violation of RA 9262 or The Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004; Benjie Duropan for frustrated murder; Noel S. Saura and Gaudencio N. Hadlocon for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.

The simultaneo­us anticrimin­ality operation was launched in the areas of Police Station (PS) 1 (RGA, Barangay Paciano Bangoy, Agdao); PS2 (Purok 1, PC Compound, Barangay 38-D); PS3 (San Antonio, Matina); PS4 (Km 12, Sasa ); PS5 (Upper Sta Cruz, Acacia, Buhangin); PS6 (Kabayan Relocation, Tibungko); PS8 (Sitio Ilang-Ilang,Daliao, Toril); PS9 (Barangay Sto Nino, Tugbok); and PS10 (Prk 8 and 9, Ramon Magsaysay St., Calinan).

The operation was composed of different law enforcemen­t units composed of 10 police stations of DCPO with TF Davao, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), National Bureau of Investigat­ion (NBI), Criminal Investigat­ion and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligen­ce Unit (RIU), Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU) and Intelligen­ce agencies simultaneo­usly.

The operation ended at 9 a.m. on the same day with no untoward incident.
