Fund raising for lumad, Muslim students slated
THE Foundation for Development Through Education Inc. (FDTEI) is set to hold a fund raising dinner concert featuring the famous pianist Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz at Marco Polo Hotel slated on January 18, Thursday.
In an email to Sun.Star Davao, FDTEI said the foundation opted to have a fund raising dinner concert, which will start at Grand Ballroom, 5 p.m. in celebration of its 20 years in providing scholar- ship for deserving students.
The FDTEI also said the concert will raise funds for college scholarships for deserving Lumad and Muslim students. Founded by the Dominguez family in 1997, FDTEI has produced more than a hundred scholar graduates to date.
Cruz, a piano prodigy at a young age, studied at the Manhattan School of Music and taught for years at the University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music.
He also works with groups organizing and training young musicians, such as Ang Misyon. Joining Cruz in the concert is the Agdao Violin Institute.
