Arches leads jins in Davraa

-

PALARONG Pambansa 2017 silver medalist Christian Neil Arches will lead Davao City jins in the upcoming Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet that will kick off on February 17 in the city.

Arches, an Emar Human and Environmental College (Ehec) who won the gold medal in last year's Davraa meet that earned him a slot to the Palarong Pambansa in Antique, will reinforce the secondary boys team composed of Kent Ayeng, Francis Cabe, Stephen Alph Caminong, Juan Miguel Dalangin, Jan Louise Delos Reyes, Jan Ellyze Delos Reyes, Eugene Anthony Carl Ravello, Neil Heinz Sevilla and Mark Christian Ursabia.

The distaff side, meanwhile, will rely on Palaro veterans Kelly Lada and Riahne Chardae Salise who will be joined by Rhea Vera, Natasha Bacamante, Shine Angela Fabros, Christine Gadian, Elah Janica Liwag, Khate Maybuena, Claire Angela Punay and Denise Alexandrine Salilama.

According to Ehec coach Anthony Non, the jins have been training consistently.

"We immediately resumed practice after they qualified," said Non.

But they still have to adjust for the poomsae (forms) event as they focused on the kyorugi events.

"That's why we are working with sir Jun Liwag considering majority of the poomsae players are under him," Non added.

Non, however, assured that the Davao City jins could keep pace against their rivals, believing that they could move forward to Palarong Pambansa 2018 set in May in Vigan City.

Meanwhile, Pegie Agustino, Arnold Alesna, Eisen Jay Burico, Frederick Manuel Cabe, Jomarie Caybot and Casimir Insoy will comprise the grade school boys while Mary Joy Ambayec, Fiona Marie Faye Asumbrado, Kristine Catoc, Ella Hernandez, Samantha Hope Salise and Anika Taporco will represent the grade school girls.
