New player enters PH cement market with new tech

-

BIG BOSS Cement, Inc. (BBCI), a fully Filipinoowned company, officially announces its entry into the local cement market offering a new cutting edge technology in cement manufacturing.

Guided by leading edge research and development, it has invented a revolutionary cement manufacturing process that results in stronger structures and environment-friendly cement.

"We are excited at the prospect of making a positive impact not only in the local construction industry but also in terms of decreasing air pollution and damage to the environment," said engineer Gilbert S. Cruz, president of BBCI.

BBCI's new technology does away with the more than century-old system of mining raw materials such as limestone, clay, shale and sand, and heating them inside a kiln at around 1,500 degrees celsius. This old process produces heavy carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the quarrying of raw materials, if not done in a responsible manner, leads to the destruction of the environment.

Its patent-pending manufacturing process makes use of readily available raw materials, such as lahar, and does not require excessive heat in order to produce high quality products.

"Science and technology are key drivers of our organization. We put a premium on research and development to be able to produce products that are superior while keeping in mind environmental sustainability," Cruz said.

The compancy has a laboratory in Metro Manila, fully equipped with a mini dryer, mini mill, compressive machine, XRF machnie, and a flow table, among others. These equipment ensure the continuous pursuit for the true green cement. This testing faciltiy has the potential to produce 5,000 bags per month.

Its first product, the Big Boss Cement Type 1P, will be available in the market in March 2018. The product is tough, ecofriendly, and has reduced clinker. For more information on the company and its products, you may visit www.bigbosscement. com.
