Pia paired with Gerald in ‘My Perfect You’

FRESH off the record-breaking success of “The Revenger Squad”, Pia Wurtzbach is set to take on another big-screen project, this time a romantic comedy with leading man Gerald Anderson.

The film, titled “My Perfect You”, will be helmed by box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina. It was announced Thursday shortly after a story conference where the lead stars were in attendance.

Speaking with reporters, Wurtzbach and Anderson said the film marks backto-back firsts for them both: working with each other, and with Garcia-Molina.

“Kakaiba siya,” Anderson, 28, said of his role, without giving details. “Look test pa lang namin, challenging na.”

Wurtzbach, 28, was similarly tight-lipped about the film’s story, but the Miss Universe titleholder did express excitement about sinking her teeth into acting.

“Sana marami akong matutunan. Sabi nga ni direk kanina, ‘Aaalisin ko ‘yung pagiging Miss Universe mo.’ Game naman ako!” she said.

Wurtzbach added: “Napapanood ko na si Gerald noon pa lang, at alam kong magaling talaga siya. Na-tsa-challenge ako na kailangan galingan ko, kasi ang galing niya. Hopefully kakayanin naman. Kaya, actually!”

Molina, meanwhile, said she is not expecting instant chemistry between her lead stars, noting they had only actually met personally on the day of the story conference.

“I want to take it as it comes,” the filmmaker said. “Every day, as we work together, doon ko lang makikilala kung sino sila. Every character is a work in progress. When we go along, that’s when we see the magic. It just comes out, naturally, in time.”

Star Cinema, ABSCBN’s film arm which will produce the movie, has yet to detail supporting actors or a release date.
