- By Karina V. Cañedo

THE City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) head Maria Luisa T. Bermudo said that there will be no vaccuum of service at CSSDO Buhangin District after its head was appointed as new Presidential Urban Poor Commission commissioner.

Norman Baloro, Buhangin District head was named by the President Rodrigo Duterte as one of the new PUCP's commissioners last January 16.

His area of responsibility includes Tigatto and Mandug area, which are among the areas hit by flash flood on the onset of Typhoon Vinta last December.

Bermudo said next week they will designate somebody to replace Baloro in his post in Buhangin.

"Process jud na sa selection sa opisina. By next week magdesignate nami ug somebody na mag-replace sa iya sa Buhangin District kay naa paman ta sa recovery and rehabilitation phase sa among disaster operations. We should pick somebody who is also equally competent to handle Buhangin District," she said.

Bermudo said they will pick someone who knows the dynamics of the Buhangin district and its 14 barangays.

She assured that existing personnel at Buhangin District can handle the work in recovery and rehabilitation well enough.

"Maskin mag leave sila, dili man nato problema kay naa may trabahante na daan (Even if the someone leaves, it is not a problem because there are already personnel in the area),"Bermudo said.

Bermudo said CSSDO is very proud of the appointment of Baloro.

"We are so happy and we are so proud, and I know he can really do it. What I wish for him is good luck, and to continue his advocacy, his support, his plans with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT)," she said.

Bermudo added that the whole office is proud and happy for him especially since the sector of LGBT will already have a representative in the whole Philippines.

"We are so proud, gikan sa Mindanao, and gikan pajud sa CSSDO, and gikan pajud sa Davao City (We are so proud since he is coming from Mindanao, coming from CSSDO, and also from Davao City)," she said.
