TWO months after the Philippine National Police (PNP) resumed its war against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office (PRO 11) arrested a total of 126 individuals while three have been killed during the illegal drugs operations since December 5.

Based on data provided by PRO 11 spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Andrea dela Cerna yesterday, she said that from December 5, since they were given the green light to conduct again drugrelated operations, they held 106 drug operations in the Davao Region.

Of the 126 arrested, 27 were drug users while 99 were pushers.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) had the highest number of operations conducted with 72 and arrested 83 drug personalities; Davao del Norte Provincial Police Station (DNPPO) with 18 operations and 25 apprehensions and Davao del Sur Provincial Police Station (DSPPO) has four operations with four arrests.

Other PNP units such as Davao Oriental Provincial Police Office (DOPPO) recorded two operations with two arrests an Compostela Valley Provincial Police Office (CVPPO), four anti-illegal drug operations and four arrested individuals.

The three killed drug personalities were all from Davao City who allegedly resisted arrest and tried to fight it out with the authorities.

Meanwhile, during the police’s Oplan Tokhang (knock and plead), there were already 36 surrenderers since the activity resumed last month until February 6 with improved supplemental operational guidelines.

Oplan Tokhang is an anti-illegal drug campaign of police where they visit identified drug personalities in their house under their watch list to encourage them to quit their drug activities and seek rehabilitation.

Since Oplan Tokhang resumed, a total of 256 Tokhang activities were conducted in different police stations under PRO 11.
