AFC C coaching course, May 14-26

THE Davao South Regional Football Association (DRFA) will host the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘C’ coaching certificate course on May 14 to 26 at the University of the Philippines Sports Complex in Mintal, Davao City.

DRFA official Rachelle “Ching” delos Reyes, in a Facebook interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the licensing course is under the program of AFC that will be facilitated by licensed AFC instructors.

“Licensing ito ng mga coaches na gustong magproceed sa higher level of coaching,” she said, adding that it is a pre-requisite of the AFC ‘B’ enroute AFC “A”.

“Ang pre-requisite naman ng AFC ‘C’ ay yung Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Youth Coaching License Course held last December,” she added.

She also said the course has classifications of tests two theory exams and three practical exams.

She, however, urged coaches to take the course to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Techniques and tactics will be tackled in the course.

Davao City has AFC ‘A’ coaches the likes of Albert Ryan Lim, sports coordinator of the Rizal Memorial Colleges, and coach Melchor Anzures of the Davao Aguilas Football Club.

“Almost every coach in the Philippine Football League (PFL) are AFC Alicensed coaches,” Delos Reyes said. ABM
