More police mobile vehicles in R11 seen

-

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) vowed to allocate more mobile assets in Police Regional Office (PRO 11) next to the newly-acquired vehicles they received on Monday for other local government units in Davao region to benefit in boosting their security capabilities.

PNP chief Ronal “Bato” dela Rosa assured the local government executives in Davao region that their respective police offices will also have their own vehicles.

This developed since most of the newly-acquired vehicles that is intended for PRO 11 will be going to all different municipalities in Davao del Sur while other provinces like Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte had only few.

“Gituyo nako na kay dugay man tawon nag PD (Provincial Director) ko sa Davao Sur dugay na nagantos na ang probinsya na kulang gyud ug gamit. Akoang gibuhusan gyud didto. Kahibalo ko sa need (I’ve been the Provincial Director of Davao del Sur for so long and they have been enduring the lack of equipment. So I give them these vehicles because they need it),” he cited.

Acknowledging the fact that some local executives might feel bad for the unequal distribution, he said that they will also be given vehicles soon.

“Sigurado ko daghan magreact na mga mayors nganong Davao del Sur lang ang complete. Pakisulti sa ilaha na ayaw panglood tungod kay perting dagahana supply mangabutay. Ang akoang bids and awards committee magkabuang nalang gud ug bidding tungod sa kadaghan sa kwarta (there might be mayors who may react negatively to more vehicles being given to Davao del Sur but please tell them to not feel bad about it. There will be more vehicles that will come. The bids and awards committee is working hard to maximize the use of our budget),” he added.

On Monday, he led the ceremonial blessing and turnOver of 23 brand new units of Toyota Hi-Lux, 44 motorcycles and three units of ManTruck at Camp Quintin M Merecido Buhangin, Davao City with estimated amount of P57 million.

“This is another shot in the arm for PRO 11 operations and overall performance of its functions especially in the fight against crimes, illegal drugs, insurgency and terrorism,” Dela Rosa said.

With the turnover of these vehicles to different police units in PRO 11, he expects the Davao police to further improve its mobility, which he said is a crucial factor in the conduct of efficient and effective police operations particularly in rendering timely police response to incidents and calls for assistance at the same time in the conduct of police patrols in the streets and communities.

This will also help in augmenting the mobility to conduct search and rescue operation during disasters and calamities.

“To improve mobility is vital to our continuing peace and order campaign particularly at this time that we are back in the war on drugs and strengthening our forces against crime, insurgency and terrorism,” he said.
