VM not surprised with Pulong’s trust rating

-

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said that he is not surprised with the high trust rating former Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte got in the recent University of Mindanao Institute of Popular Opinion survey.

“I am not surprised, kahit ako sa Sanggunian, nakita ko ang trabaho niya in the last eight years in the council, and we have seen him perform,” he said.

Al-ag added that during the then vice mayor’s time in the Council, there was no corruption issue.

“I am not surprised that the people gave him high trust rating, I am happy about him and this is an indication that in the future if he wants to come back to public service in Davao City he is still very welcome,” he said.

Al-ag also assured that the operations of the Davao City Council may be affected by the former vice mayor’s resignation as it was also one of the latest survey’s highlights.

“Right now we are doing our best, we are working together as a Council, under my new leadership as the new vice mayor, I am assuring the public na lahat ng trabaho ay

magagagawa natin, lahat po ng kailangan gawin ay matatapos natin dito sa council,” he said.

The survey conducted by UM-IPO, an independent body conducting surveys about political sentiments of Dabawenyos, showed 58 percent out of the 1,200 respondents expressed that they still trust and have confidence in Duterte.

UM-IPO director for quantitative studies Dr. Adrian Tamayo, in a press conference on Monday at The Annex of SM City Davao, presented their latest survey that focused on the decision of former Vice Mayor Duterte to resign following the controversies he was dragged into particularly the issue on the P6.5 billion drug shipment at the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and heated argument with her daughter on social media.

Dabawenyos in general still have high trust for him while 42 percent have lost their confidence. KVC with reports from
