SUN Life Foundation Philippines, Inc. recently signed an agreement with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. (ALKFI), pledging more than P19 million in support of its river rehabilitation program.

The program is set to benefit a total of 7,625 households in Marikina City through the development of a linear park along the Tumana-Malanday Creek, a learning campaign to educate the beneficiaries on solid waste management, as well as a two-day leadership development and law enforcement training camp.

“The partnership between Sun Life Foundation and the ABS-CBN Foundation began in 2009 when we forged a five-year partnership with them because we believed in the causes that they support. But this river rehabilitation project is particularly special to us because we are moving towards sustainability, focusing back on river rehabilitation and making sure it stays clean and alive for future generations,” said Alex Narciso, President of Sun Life Foundation.

Also present during the signing were Riza Mantaring, Chairperson - Sun Life Foundation; Ma. Karenina Casas, Trustee – Sun Life Foundation; Kristine Millete, Executive Director – Sun Life Foundation; Susanna Afan, Managing Director – ALKFI; Noemi Samson, Chief Finance and Services Officer – ALKFI; and Johanna Santos, Bantay Kalikasan Program Director
