ONE thing for sure, every participant will bring home something from the 10th Phoenix Open Golf Tournament eyed to be bigger and better than the previous editions.

Tournament organizer Liloh Evangelista bared this during a press launch at Sundays Modern Home Cooking, Phoenix Megastation compound in Lanang, Davao City.

"There are more prizes now. There will be five hole-in-one prizes. One hole will have P1 million cash while the other will have the Harley Davidson motorcycle and two Tata Manza cars for each of the other two holes. We are still negotiating with another car company for the fifth hole-in-one prize. If it pushes through, we will just give away the fuel cards," she said, adding that a P100,000 worth of Phoenix Petroleum fuels and lubricants was the original fifth hole-in-one prize of the golfest set March 17 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

She said that golfers will have 20 chances of winning any of the coveted prizes.

All division winners will each receive Royal Selangor Pewter Plate and Phoenix Petroleum fuel cards. The champions will also claim limited edition Phoenix signature golf bags.

She, however, said they also raised the entry fee to P7,500 from P5,000 as they are giving out more freebies and prizes this year.

Registration, she said, will allow a golfer play in three categories - team, partner and individual. The fee is also inclusive of an Under Armour shirt and cap, A JBL Trip communication and audio system by Harman Kardon and a Phoenix golf umbrella.

Exciting prizes will also be raffled off during the awarding ceremony.

Regisration opens tomorrow for the Stableford format fund-raising event that will benefit the company's foundation.

Evangelista added, "As of today, only 80 slots are available from the 200 slots expected. We hope golfers register as soon as registration opens."

Registration centers are at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, Dencio's Kamayan at SM and Phoenix Mega Station.

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. vice president for external affairs and business development lawyer Raymond T. Zorrilla and corporate affairs manager Beethoven Sur were also present during the press launch of the golfest and the Phoenix Pulse Technology.
