Palos keeps 2nd spot after Day 2

DAVAO City-based Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club (RPVGCC) retained the second spot in Sportswrit­er Division after Day 2 of the PAL Seniors Interclub Golf Tournament in Bacolod City yesterday.

Noe Taojo carded 44 points to lead RPVGCC while Deo Cura and Lito Dublan added 40 and 36 points, respective­ly, for a day's total of 120 points.

RPVGCC garnered a twoday total of 228 points, just two-point behind division leader Veterans Golf Team A (230) whose day 2 scorers were Jose Cortina (43), Florendo Fajilan (42) and Danilo Gonzales (34).

TaoTaomona Guam (218) was third followed by Van City Golf Club (215) fourth, Bacolod Golf (212) fifth, Forest Hills Golf Club (210) sixth, Melbourne Pinoy Golf (209) seventh, Club Filipino Inc. De Cebu (206) eighth, San Juanico Golf and Country Club (205) ninth and Paoay Golf (198) 10th.

The Sportswrit­er Division has 14 teams vying for the title.

Meanwhile, Cebu Country Club paced the Founders Division with 272 points as Nelson Yuvallos had 49, Ramontito Garcia carded 47 and Masatsugo Ochiai scored 36 yesterday.

The Alabang Golf Team came second with 267 as of this writing.

Three Davao City teams Lanang Golf Team, Davao City Golf and Apo Golf and Country Club are also entered in the Seniors tournament.
