EXPECT big projects in partnership with the Chinese Government within the next three years, Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio said.

In an interview during the Parada Dabawenyo on Friday, Duterte-Carpio said they had a fruitful meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua on the same day.

"It is very exciting for the next three years because there are big projects for the city," she said.

Duterte-Carpio, however, refused to name the projects yet.

In previous reports, Jianhua also came in the city last January 12 to turn over aid to the families of the 38 victims of the NCCC fire.

The donation had a total of P5 million.

Last January 10, Officials from the Communist Party of China (CPC) also met with Duterte-Carpio at the City Hall.

The visit highlights the strong relationship

between the city and Beijing.

Meng Xiangfeng, the deputy director of the Central Committee’s General Office, led the seven-man Chinese delegation. The Chinese official is also the Executive Vice Secretary of Working Committee of Organs under CPC.

Duterte-Carpio together with the CPC delegates exchanged views on the promotion of people-to-people exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.

The Chinese delegates also briefed city officials on the blueprint of China’s social and economic development.
