MNLF member nabbed in drug bust

A MEMBER of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) along with his companion, were apprehende­d in a buy bust operation on Thursday, March 22 inside a motel in Cabaguio Ave., Barangay W. Aquino, Agdao, Davao City.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokespers­on Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said yesterday that a reliable confidenti­al informant tipped off the informatio­n to their intelligen­ce personnel on the drug activities of the suspects which prompted the operatives to pull anti-illegal drug operation.

She further identify the suspects as Cader Macasasa Macud alias Kadir/Cader, 26 years old, single, businessma­n and Arsalic Liminio Gamba, 23 years old, single, college student. They are residents of Narra St., Purok 4F Banana Extension, Bermudez Compound, Apoko, Tagum City.

“An alias 'Kadir' was peddling illegal drugs locally known as shabu within AOR (area of responsibi­lity) and further informed the team that the subject person is also a member of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF),” the police spot report said.

The Station Drug Enforcemen­t Unit (SDEU) of Sta. Ana Police Station and a team from the Philippine Drug Enforcemne­t Agency (PDEA 11) conducted the drug buy-bust operation under pre-op #30004-032018-0141 issued by PDEA 11 which resulted to the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects were arrested at around 5:35 p.m. after an undercover poseur buyer from PDEA 11 purchased one piece of rectangula­r shape heat

sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing shabu in exchange of prepared buy-bust marked money of one piece genuine P1,000 bill placed on top of 39 pieces of 1,000 peso bills boodle money.

Afterwards, during frisking, the personnel confiscate­d other pieces of evidence including one big size square shape heat sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing white crystallin­e substance believed to be shabu and another three rectangula­r shape heat sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing the same substance.

Recovered from their possession are also one piece big red pouch, one unit blue Nokia cellular phone, identifica­tion card of alias Kadir indicating his membership with MNLF, and personal money amounting to P850.00

The confiscate­d suspected illegal drugs have a street value of P1,440,000 and with an estimated weight of around 120 grams. The suspects were considered High Value Target –Armed Group.

The suspects are now under the custody of the police station and charges are being readied to file against them for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drug Act.
