-

I-Mei Foods, a Taiwanese company that specializes in manufacturing, distribution, and export and import of food products, have recently hired 40 to 50 Dabawenyo factory workers and may still continue to look for more, said a Manila Economic and Cultural Office (Meco) official.

On the sidelines of the Taiwan Trade Mission 2018 held last Thursday, March 22 at Marco Polo Hotel, Meco assistant corporate secretary and executive officer attorney Arthur Abiera, Jr. said I-Mei Foods executives were here in Davao City last December to interview prospect factory workers to work for their company. Abiera said I-Mei Foods products involve breads, pastries, and chocolates among others.

The 40 to 50 Dabawenyos were hired directly with the help of Meco and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
