Cleanest, greenest results consolidat­ion conducted

SOUTH COTABATO - Evaluators of the 2018 Search for Cleanest & Greenest LGU conducted its consolidat­ion of results at Evelandia Eco-Resort, Lake Sebu this weekend for the initial evaluation held from February 28 to March 16.

Judging of the 10 municipali­ties and lone city of the province was based on the new criteria such as, Clean and Green Governance Support Facilities – 40%; Barangay – 20%; Public Market – 10%; Public Plaza and Parks – 5%; Roadside Beautifica­tion – 10%; Public terminal – 5%; 10-Year Solid Waste Management Plan Implementa­tion – 10%.

The initial evaluation has a weighted percentage of 40% versus 60% for the final evaluation which will be conducted during the last week of May up to the middle of June as part of its window period or schedule. Prizes at stake are the following; First Place – P800,000; 2nd place – P500,000; 3rd place – P300,000; 4th place – P180,000; 5th place – P100,000; 6th place – P80,000. They will also receive plaque. Likewise, a consolatio­n prize of P40,000 each will be awarded to the remaining 5 LGUs.

Added incentives in the form of special awards will be given to the Best Barangay (1st Place–P30,000, 2nd Place-P20,000, 3rd PlaceP10,000), Best Community Garden (P20,000), Best Backyard Garden (P10,000), Best Central Material Recovery Facility (P30,000), Best Municipal Nursery (P30,000), Best Public Market (P30,000), Best Public Plaza and Parks (P30,000), Best Roadside Beautifica­tion (P30,000) and Best Public Toilet (P10,000).

Evaluators of the contest are representa­tives of the Provincial Environmen­t Management Office, Provincial Planning and Developmen­t Office, Integrated Provincial Health Office, Provincial Informatio­n Office, Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Developmen­t Promotions Unit, South Cotabato Foundation Inc. and Dole Philippine­s Inc. The Department of Interior and Local Government Provincial Office acts as the Head Secretaria­t.
