UHAY, one of the longest circulating government newsletters in the country, had been cited for its exemplary achievements in informing and inspiring its officials, employees, other stakeholders and the general public on the breakthroughs and accomplishments of the agency via success stories, special reports, and features.

Presenting these [articles] in an interesting, attractive, and well laid-out and edited publication, thus contributing to the overall development of the agriculture sector," Philippine Agricultural Journalists Inc. (PAJ) cites.

This is the third Binhi Award for Uhay, DA-XI's official publication which circulates for 38 years now. It has received its first award in 2003 and received the second one after 13 years (2016). With three Binhi Awards, Uhay is no longer eligible to compete in the Newsletter Category but instead it will be elevated to the Binhi Awards Hall of Fame.

The Binhi Awards is an annual prestigious competition organized by the PAJ in partnership with the SMC to recognize the exemplary achievements of the country’s agriculture and environment journalists.

“More than 150 journalists and institutions joined this year's contest. Started in 1978, Binhi Awards continuously gaining grounds since there are a lot of inspiring stories in the countryside,” Noel Reyes, Binhi Awards contest chair and PAJ vice president for internal affairs said.

On behalf of the Uhay editorial team and DA-XI information section, we thank the PAJ-SMC Binhi Awards for the recognition. We also thank DA-XI management and staff members from various operating units, our LGU partners, and most especially our farmers for trusting and sharing their stories.

Our message remains the same: "We don't make news, we only write them and can only keep on writing if you keep on performing. Let's keep it that we way as we remain committed to sharing valuable knowledge and inspiring stories in agriculture."
