Zero major incident during Holy Week
ZERO major incident was recorded during the observance of Holy Week, a police officer said.
In an interview Saturday with Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum, he said that the observance of Holy Week has been generally peaceful attributed to their comprehensive security plan laid out on the ground.
"Our three-level security effort has so far resulted to the peaceful and orderly observance of Holy Week," Tagum said.
DCPO implemented maximum deployment of its personnel with the augmentation of additional forces from the Police Regional Office (PRO 11) to secure 31 identified catholic churches in the city as well as in strategic areas including seaports, terminals and airports.
Tagum said that they designated cops in all Catholic Churches in the city with the establishment of Police Assistance Desk and Staff to ensure the safety and security of devotees and for a quicker action in case of emergencies.
He added that they intensified their Covert Intelligence Operatives and Spotters deployed in all public convergence areas and churches to watch over suspected Criminals and Terrorist.
Likewise, they implemented an enhanced Police Integrated Patrol Deployment like static and roving patrols, bike, motorcycle and mobile patrols in all strategic areas and public convergence areas in the city.
Tagum attributed the successful security coverage to the public and various stakeholders for their cooperation with the security forces.
