Visit Davao Summer Fest’s newest destination
WHILE we know it as Davao Region’s treasure trove of gold, Compostela Valley Province is also home to natural wonders that are surely a sight for sore eyes. And this summer, we are all about to discover it through the Tourism Department’s summer slogan Visit Davao Summer Fest (VDSF).
ComVal is VDSF’s newest partner as they join the Longfest and Widefest featured on the slogan’s Visit Davao Aquathlon.
The fest will both include swimming and trekking around the province’s secret spot: Kopiat Island in Pindasan, Mabini.
The Kopiat Island Aquathlon will commence on May 20, 2018. Registrations will be through the the VDSF website and Facebook Page. More details will also be released through their social media accounts so if you are the sporty and beach savvy one, just watch out!
The 87-hectare island is also a great spot for marine biodiversity as its part of the 6,106-hectare Mabini Protected Landscape and a nesting site of the Greenback and Hawksbill turtle species.
More activities will also be launched in the province along with the Aquathlon including the Climb Caravan.
It will be launched through the Bubayi Climb, an all-women climb to Mt. Amakan in the province featuring a Duyan Fest at Lake Leonard, Small Leyte, Maco, Compostela Valley. The Caravan will also culminate through the Mars Atack National Climb Congress featuring Mt. Candalaga. Kopiat Island will be among the highlighted scuba diving destinations for the Regionwide Dive Fest.
VDSF 2018 is an intensified effort as it aims to reach out through all parts of Davao Region and its undiscovered gems.
A number of fun-filled and exciting activities that vary from sports and adventures, cultural and arts, as well as party and leisure await all the anticipating tourists.
The summer fest is also filled with enticing discounts in beach and island resorts, restaurants, shopping malls, and spa wellness centers.
