TAGUM CITY -- The University of Mindanao (UM)-Davao City women's basketball team reclaimed the title after two years by routing UM Tagum College of Davao del Norte, 101-44, in the finals of the Prisaa (Private School Athletic Association) 11 Regional Meet women’s basketball championship game at the Rotary Gym here yesterday.

The Chrysanthemum Sarabia-coached Davao cagebelles last won the Regional Prisaa crown in 2015 as the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Lady Bulldogs won the city title to represent the region in the national games the past two years.

Disney Lampara, Mayville Villaflor and Josie Bajao led Davao City’s golden feat.

Lampara drilled in 28 points while Villaflor and Bajao combined for 27.

The squad was also composed of Joan Cate Dosdos, Analine Duran, Kimberly Sean Renedabo, Judy Ann Enalin, Analyn Climaco, Richelle May Saniel, Cherry Ann Diagbel and Judy An Maquiso.

The Dabawenyos didn't waste any chance just right after tip off as they went straight for the kill, unloading a massive 62-17 edge at the half and never looked back.

But Sarabia is more concerned on the National Finals rather than relishing the win.

"Sa totoo lang sir, kailangan pa naming iprove sa lahat na we are rightful to represent Region 11. We need to justify it dahil hindi namin nakalaro ang RMC sa city meet," Sarabia said.

She added they will use their run and gun expertise in the national finals as they aim for the crown.
