Construction board accredits 4 engrs
SOUTH COTABATO - Four engineers from the Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) here were accredited by the Philippine Domestic Construction Board, Construction Industry of the Philippines (PDCB-CIP) as Construction Performance Evaluators (CPE).
The accredited engineers were PEO Officer-in-Charge Vicente Ayongao, PEO – Planning Designing and Programming Division Officerin-Charge Frederick Soriano, Wendell Bonjoc and Efren Januto.
PDCB-CIP’s accreditation is crucial to the functionality and operation of the Constructors Performance Evaluation System – Implementing Unit (CPES-IU) of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, Grace Maniego, province’s Internal Auditor IV and CPES-IU Head, said.
“Likewise, the CPESIU is part of the Performance Reform Targets under the Conditional Matching Grant for Provinces (CMGP) for Road Repair, Rehabilitation and Improvement. Moreover, it will ensure that all infrastructure projects implemented by local construction conform to the specified requirement of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato,” Maniego stressed.
Maniego further explained that the CPE ratings may be used by the province in prequalification/eligibility screening of constructors, awarding of contracts, project monitoring and control, issuance of Certificate of Completion, policy formulation/review, granting of incentives/awards and in adopting measures to further improve performance of contractors in the prosecution of government projects.
