Al-ag is OIC
DAVAO City Councilor Bernard Al-ag will sit as acting mayor from March 9-12 as Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio joined the party of President Rodrigo R. Duterte in Hainan, China to attend the Boao Forum for Asia.
Duterte-Carpio issued a memoradum on April 5, 2018 directing Al-ag to temporarily assume the duties and responsibilities of the mayor while she is on an official travel.
On April 6, 2018, Al-ag also designated Davao City Councilor Al Ryan S. Alejandre as acting vice mayor to perform the functions of the vice mayor on the said dates.
The President is in China to have a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and attend the BFA Asia Annual Conference 2018.
Established on February 27, 2001, the Boao Forum for Asia is a nongovernment and non-profit international organization that promotes and strengthens economic exchanges, interaction and cooperation within the region, as well as between the region and other parts of the world. It also provides high-level venue for dialogue between leaders from government, private enterprise, academia and other juridical associations to discuss, exchange and develop ideas in the scope of economic, social,
environmental and related issues.
