THE security of visitors for Compostela Valley's first-ever participation in the Visit Davao Summer Festival (VDSF) was assured by the ComVal Tourism Office yesterday, April 16.

During the Kapehan sa Davao press conference held at SM City Davao Annex, ComVal Tourism Officer Christine T. Dompor said that they are working in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to intensify the clearing operations in the area. She also added that they are not going to hold any events in an area unless it is cleared from any threats.

“We are doing this for nine years [providing enjoyment for the tourists] and no incidents like insurgencies had happened,” Dompor said.

Together with other participating agencies for the VDSF schedules of events and preparations for the upcoming festival that will be happening on April 15 to June 30 were announced.

Events in Comval for the VDSF will take place in Maragusan. One of its

highlights will be the #MarsAttack on May 24 to 27, which already has participates from Baguio City and other places in Luzon and Visayas.

Dax Ang of Davao Adventure shrugged off fears of Martial Law saying it's not even felt as people go about their normal activities.

“This means, come, visit us because this is how we celebrate Martial Law,” he said.
