CEB to strengthen Davao hub with new planes
CEBU Pacific is set to accept the delivery of three Airbus A321ceo (Current Engine Option) aircraft in the coming weeks to support its expansion plans across the Philippines especially its Davao hub.
Cebu Pacific Corporate Communications Director Charo Logarta Lagamon announced on Wednesday, April 18 in a restaurant here that the new aircraft will be serving Davao routes as the city continues to have strong passenger traffic.
"Davao has always had high demand in passengers, in fact, for the past several weeks all our Davao flights are fully booked," she said.
She added that the new aircraft will have 230 seats, an upgrade from the 120-seater Airbus A320.
After the three additional aircraft, another three Airbus A321ceo will be added in the airline's 62 aircraft-strong fleet.
Davao City Tourism officer Generose Tecson,for her part, said this is a welcome development tothe thriving tourism climate of the city.
"This means more opportunities which we should take advantage. This is to better serve our visitors. Being the gateway in the south,we hope this could also help promote our other neighboring cities and towns," Tecson said.
Lagamon added that Davao is one of the few destinations in the country where all of their aircraft types in their fleet is operating.
At present, Cebu Pacific has 62 aircraft with an average age of 4.8 years, one of the youngest in the world. The present fleet is comprised of one Airbus A321ceo, 36 Airbus A320, eight Airbus A330, eight ATR 72-500, and nine ATR 72-600 aircraft.
From late 2018-2022, the airline is expecting delivery of 32 Airbus A321neo ( New Engine Option).
