IN a bid to provide better healthcare experience for its members, leading healthcare provider, Maxicare, inaugurated yesterday its Maxicare Wing at the Metro Davao Medical and Research Center (MDMRC).

Maxicare president and chief executive officer Christian Argos, in a media roundtable yesterday at the Seda Abreeza Hotel, said this is the first Maxicare Wing that they established outside of Metro Manila.

He said at the Maxi- care Wing, patients will get upgraded rooms with Wifi connection, electronic bed, and a 42-inch television.

"But more importantly, it is the total patient experience. The admission and discharge process is faster. We have integrated with the hospital, you will get better outcome and better patient care," Argos said.

He said the wing will also have a Maxicare inpatient office where they have a personnel on site to make sure that all of their members are being catered to.

"It is really about the patient experience. Once you get confined and once you leave we are able to address your health concerns in the most effective and efficient manner," Argos said.

He said in choosing a site for their Maxicare Wing, they evaluate their medical partners based on "outcomes and cost."

"Looking at Davao, MDMRC is a hospital that delivers great outcomes and costs," Argos said.

Aside from the Maxicare Wing, the healthcare provider is also looking into establishing a Primary Care Center (PCC) in Davao City. They are currently looking for a ocation for the center.

"The PCC is an out patient facility, which will offer consulations, diagnostic tests, lab tests, ultrasound, and x-ray. Basically, out patient services short of surgeries," said Argos.
