4 more face drug charges

CHARGES were filed before the Davao City Prosecution Office yesterday against four suspects for selling illegal drugs and possessing loose firearms in Davao Region.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, are Rolly Bautista and Maribel Malinao, both hail from Tagum City; Joseph Tiozon and Elijie Cajetas, from Barangay Acacia, Davao City.

The suspects are also facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act in connection to Comelec Gun Ban after a gun was recovered from them.

In a record obtained from the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) showed that the suspects were arrested in a drug-bust operation by the Sasa Police Station and Tagum City Police Station in Barangay Madaum in Tagum City on Tuesday.

Police arrested the suspects after conspiring together in selling one plastic sachet con-

taining suspected shabu to the poseur buyer. Recovered from them were eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu, paraphernalia and P1,000 money.

The four suspects are currently detained at the Sasa Police Station in Davao City for proper disposition. They had been brought to the prosecution office on Wednesday morning for the inquest proceedings.
