Go refuses to talk about 2019 elections

- By Ivy C. Tejano

SPECIAL Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go refused to talk about the 2019 midterm elections.

Go, in an ambush interview yesterday, said he has no plans on running for senator in the mid-term elections. He added that he needs to focus on his assignments as special assistant to President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Go issued such statement after he had cast his vote at Buhangin Central Elementary School in Davao City

during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections yesterday morning.

Before and even after voting, Go entertained a number of Dabawenyos by granting them photo ops as he has been accommodating to the public even before Duterte ran and won the presidency in the 2016 election.

"Huwag na muna natin itong pag-usapan. Hindi (Wala pa sa isip ko ang tumakbo) at hindi pa ako handa. Trabaho muna ako. Ayaw kong pag-usapan ang politika. Ipapasa-Diyos ko na lang lahat yan (Let's not talk about it yet. No and I’m not yet ready. I'll work first. I don't want to talk about politics. I'll let God decide all for me)," Go said.

He even joked that no matter how he looks at himself on the mirror, he just can't see himself as a senator. He said he would rather continue to work for and with the president.

Go earlier asked his supporters to give him more time as he still has tons of work to do. He said it is too early to talk about the mid-term elections, adding that he will make a decision when the right time comes.

Go also hopes that when he decides, his supporters would still be there for him. Go has been thankful for all the support of the people to him and to Duterte.

Just last month, over 1,000 supporters from various national and local government agencies attended the launching of the B4BG and urged Go to run for senator, as they deemed that he could help bring progress to barangays nationwide. ICT
