Brigada Eskwela voluntary: Deped 11

- By Jeepy Compio

PARTICIPATING in the Brigada Eskwela on May 28 to June 2 is voluntary, this was clarified by Department of Education (Deped) 11 spokesperson Jenelieto Atillo.

"Dili pinugsanay nga manglimpyo ug moadto sa mga tulunghaan, (Nobody is forced to clean and/or go to schools (during the Brigada Eskwela)," Atillo said.

He also advised the parents that there is no payment needed to enlist their children in schools to prioritize them during enrollment.

This is usually what happens but this is wrong since we already have a pre-enrollment, where if the student has already finished Grade 7, he is automatically enrolled to Grade 8)," he added.

He also added that aside from voluntary, Brigada Eskuwela activity does not involve money to purchase cleaning materials.

Some parents would say they voluntarily donated an amount of money but they post differently in their social media accounts saying they are being collected with money by the teachers. The teachers will be on the losing end)," Atillo revealed.

However, he urged the parents and the students to participate in the program and to bring with them cleaning materials so that the classrooms will be ready come start of classes on June 4, 2018.
